About Darryl
With over 25 years of software and technical leadership, Darryl Wright has navigated the evolution of the sector from telecommunications to triple-A game development. A veteran of the Canadian scene, his journey includes pivotal roles at HB Studios (now 2K) and Electronic Arts, before returning to Nova Scotia to champion the indie ecosystem and help found the ISNS.
In 2015, Darryl founded Punk Science Studios, specializing in games and high profile projects ranging from the official Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade app to software for radiation cancer treatment. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Gogii Games’ Halifax studio and Technical Director at Ubisoft Halifax.
A staunch advocate for lean, adaptive development, Darryl focuses on stripping away extraneous process to empower teams. He believes that at the intersection of autonomy, team chemistry, and cross-discipline collaboration, the best work happens.
